In the face of evil.
I understand what Marines and military personnel go through. We get strong and powerful and we are proud of who we are. One day your wearing your camouflage utilities the next day you are a citizen again. All of what we once were is gone. Yes we can become something great in civilian life but the rules are changed. Yes you might get a good job but life isn't about money and fast cars. Recently I failed a Marine at the VA. He was a Vietnam Veteran and he knew the things he had to do. I did not have the words to tell him. I am not a combat Marine though I have an overseas with a star. I put my life on the line as a Marine but being a mechanic my MOS was critical in keeping the troops and the battlefront moving. I worked what seemed like endless hours on equipment that was always broken. I was told I was "in expendable." I volunteered to guard the base in the jungle in a coup attempt in the Philippines while stationed at Lower MEF Camp. I realized I may not spend any time in combat since I was so needed. In war I know the front can be anywhere and there was always uncertain danger, but my job usually kept me in safe places. I could not relate to this other Marine who had to do the unspeakable that no one wants to do in war. I know so many people try Jesus and Jesus doesn't always answer prayers. To a baby Christian a lot of people walk away. But trials and tribulations are what all Christians go through. People try a drug and often they are hooked but with Jesus its different. You have just entered a war when you call on Jesus name. Satan doesn't want to lose you. He is mad because he wants you to go to hell because he knows that is his final destination. We aren't fighting a fleshly war. A lot of times in combat you are fighting a nation that hasn't accepted Jesus Christ. I myself hate violence but over the years of Christianity I am finding the battle belongs to God. A few days ago May 1st 2019 I had to face a demon possessed man who was trying to kill a woman landlord and another man at this house meanwhile terrorizing the women that lived there. Fortunately the two year old girl and down syndrome woman living there weren't there during these attacks. I being a felon did not want to fight and I knew I didn't have to because God would fight my battles. During the day the demon possessed man showed up. He was rambling words as he always does. Then he got on about how he was innocent. I picked up my Bible and stood up and read with authority the following verse. (Isa 54:17) No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
He got mad and approached but I approached him and he backed down. I spoke with authority the Bible and its many promises and I can speak loud as a Marine. He was a strong demon but I got him to leave the house on his own terms. I kept the King James Bible in hand the entire time and spoke words of what it speaks of. I did not have to fight because I did not want to, but I held my sword strong.
(Eph 6:10) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
(Eph 6:11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(Eph 6:12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
(Eph 6:13) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
(Eph 6:14) Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
(Eph 6:15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
(Eph 6:16) Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
(Eph 6:17) And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
(Eph 6:18) Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
I realized what being a Marine was again. A battle that was fought on God's terms and how you can put the enemy in fear. Fights are no good and I thought to myself I can't be a coward and let this man get away with terrorizing these women. I let God fight for me and I realize many of you are combat Marines in and out of the service. God can keep the enemy's weapon on safety or have him miss you or cause the enemies weapon to jam. You don't know the power in God's Word until you are so close to him you can see the whites of his eyes.
(Pro 18:10) The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
The biggest problem in combat few will ever have to face is when the enemy is on God's side. If the enemy holds a Bible as I believe some Germans may have in WWII and most definitely our Civil War. The only question is who does God fight for. The answer is war is never fun. As for battles with Muslims pray. Have God bless your equipment because that equipment could save your life. You still have to use CLP but when your bullets run out and you have to fix bayonet God is not a coward either. He will stand the battle with you. If that means waking you up in a foxhole then it's God that will keep you alive. God knows one battle can sometimes last for what seems like forever. For me it was eight years seven months in prison and one fight can ruin any chance of getting out. You realize at that point you have to fight your battles in another way. When I was in the Marines we didn't train to fight we trained to kill. When you are outnumbered you don't have time to throw fist and kick. You throw your enemy on the ground and take his life. Remember the story of Sampson in the Bible.
(Jdg 15:14) And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.
(Jdg 15:15) And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.
(Jdg 15:16) And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.
(Jdg 15:17) And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.
Did it say the jawbone broke. No it didn't it lasted the entire battle. I know God too can give this power but you have to want it. You can do this with a K-BAR or fixed bayonet. You have to be ready for this. I remember one of our drill instructors telling us about hand to hand combat. He said get something in your hands. It maybe a sharpened tent peg, your helmet, entrenching tool, or anything even a jammed weapon. Bullets can even miss you but that all has to do with your relationship and how close you are to Christ. If you had sex with a prostitute in the Philippines you might come home in a body bag but if you spent your 72 with God and your King James Bible the enemy better run and hide from you. For me physically I was ready for war in Iraq the first gulf war but spiritually I was a wreck. Read Psalm 91 and keep a copy in your helmet. I will post it below in case you don't know it.
(Psa 91:1) He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
(Psa 91:2) I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
(Psa 91:3) Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
(Psa 91:4) He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
(Psa 91:5) Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
(Psa 91:6) Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
(Psa 91:7) A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
(Psa 91:8) Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
(Psa 91:9) Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
(Psa 91:10) There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
(Psa 91:11) For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
(Psa 91:12) They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
(Psa 91:13) Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
(Psa 91:14) Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
(Psa 91:15) He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
(Psa 91:16) With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Throughout the pages of the Bible it often speaks of combat especially the Old Testament. You can stand strong against the enemy with the tools you need from the Bible. Obedience is also an important key because the Bible even says:
(Rom 6:23) For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Today I almost sinned and I felt God resisting me but I fought hard because I wanted that sin. I could have lost my hedge of protection. That is how we can die or something bad happen because yes "the wages of sin is death." You want to live and not to come home in a body bag. I'm not indicating that Christians don't die in combat because they do. Being a Christian close to God greatly improves your chances of survival. If you are a Vietnam Veteran and you went on missions doing things you didn't want to do well then:
(Jas 4:8) Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
I could lose my salvation for not sharing Christ with that man but I didn't have the words or the confidence anymore. I am relearning what it means to be a Marine even after I dishonored the Corps with a foolish crime 22 years ago. I spent those 22 years repenting and trying to get right with God. I'm not there yet but I am working on myself again and relearning what it means to stand on those yellow footprints at night at MCRD San Diego in Platoon 1010. God help me do the rest and give me what I need to reach this Marine even my prayers are with him. LORD Jesus don't let this man's life be in vain and that too goes for the rest of you serving or who have already served. God will take you back.
(Isa 5:25) Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
(Isa 9:12) The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
(Isa 9:17) Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
(Isa 9:21) Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh: and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
(Isa 10:4) Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
While that may not all sound good even in our unrighteous deeds and what horrific battles we go through God's hand is stretched out still. Amen...
Wanna Be but only a few a Marine! IT IS HARD TO BE THE FEW THE PROUD A FIGHTING MACHINE!!!!
Poem written for Todd Jessie Garton who never even finished boot camp.
Many tried many fell.
Many lies and fairy tales.
Too hard wasn't the best.
Many could not pass that USMC test.
Wore the colors but they had failed.
Covered up failure as train derailed.
I have heard many excuses why some could not pass.
They were so tough they just did not last.
I am not talking about a Marine, but one that wears colors and tells dirty lies.
There are so many, and they are ****birds that tried to hide.
Many people I have heard talk a great talk but they never joined or signed on the dotted line. Some folks think they are cooler than GOD Almighty. The snort a line or smoke a joint, and while drinking and doing foul things, US Marines fighting to protect others and them, who all too often forget about The Few The Proud.
Life is not about dorky cars gangsters drive and worldly nonsense. It is about serving GOD Almighty. If you are too scared to join be honest. But at least step up to the plate and support those who are fighting for your freedom. Real men and women fight for honor and respect. Many fake people watch worldly junk learning to act stupid while others are protecting them. I have met too many people, even those who insulted me to my face, yet I would walk away knowing one day GOD Almighty will set the facts straight.
I have known far too many people trying to put everyone down and exhault themselves, but let me tell you a true Marine will never fail you! In one of the worst places on earth, I met two real Marines. They were the only ones who cared. They didn't have to pull out a DD214, because they had learned respect. GOD Almighty also earned respect so respect GOD today. The LORD is our King, he is our everything!
